How to Burn Your Candle Properly: A Guide from Crafty Mountain Candle Co.
Burning your candle correctly not only ensures safety but also helps you get the most out of your candle's burn time and fragrance. Here’s how to enjoy your CMCC candles to the fullest:
For Our Dessert Candles:
To keep these unique creations looking beautiful and burning evenly, we recommend burning them for 2 hours at a time.
For Regular Candles (7 oz and 16 oz Jars):
For our standard-sized candles, the ideal burn time is 3 hours per session. 4 hours max.
Important Candle-Burning Tips:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Your safety is our top priority.
- Avoid overburning. Burning a candle for too long can cause the fragrance oil to evaporate, reducing the scent throw. It can also lead to the wick becoming too high, which makes the candle melt faster and unevenly.
- Watch for "mushrooming." Our candles are crafted with special wicks that may develop a small “mushroom” at the top if burned too long. This is a natural sign to trim your wick before the next use.
- Trim your wick. Always trim your candle’s wick to 1/4 inch before each burn to ensure a clean, even burn and to prevent soot or excessive flame.
- How to know if the wick is too high: If your candle has been burning for too long, you might notice that after you blow it out, the wick will smoke for over a minute or two. A wick that smokes for an extended time after extinguishing indicates that it’s too high and needs to be trimmed before relighting.
By following these tips, you’ll enjoy a safer, longer-lasting candle experience while preserving the charm of your Crafty Mountain Candle Co. creations.
Happy burning! 🕯️
