Soy vs Palm Wax
Soy wax, which is mostly extracted from soybeans and 100% all-natural and health friendly is a very soft wax. Due to its strength, soy wax candles are specifically made as container candles, which is the biggest benefit of palm wax vs. soy wax. Container candles are nice, but most specifically, we love our pillars and we enjoy being more creative with our designs. In order to use soy wax, you must add different additives in order to strengthen it, which we refuse to do.
While, paraffin is the king of pillar and novelty candles, paraffin is NOT at all healthy especially when around your children, family, and pets. The process involved in paraffin wax is very toxic, so much so that employees of big brand name stores are required to wear masks handling them. Why would you want to burn something made of paraffin in your space?
Our go-to solution was palm wax. Palm wax has the strength of paraffin with none of the chemicals. Palm wax is extracted from the fruits of palm trees which make it very eco-friendly and sustainable.
Even better, research has shown that palm wax has a much better scent hold and throw as opposed to soy candles. And in regards to burn, the burn time on pillar candles has always performed better on pillar candles and our pillars are strong!
